International R&D Summit and Fair

International R&D Summit and Fair (May 3-5, 2017) was recently held in Istanbul to foster scientific and partnering collaborations between institutions, and persons in order to expand national and international awareness for services and activities performed by the government, universities and private sector.

In the light of sustainable development goals of Turkey, the overall aim of the fair is  to gather industrial organizations, universities and government institutions and inform other parties about activities performed by fundamental players of R&D ecosystem.

Izmir International Biomedicine and Genome Institute (iBG-izmir) participated the fair as one entity from Dokuz Eylül University. Institute director, Prof. Mehmet Öztürk, gave a speech in R&D Collaborations for Structual Transformation in Health Industries panel discussion where other senior representatives from universities, government and private sector participated. During this panel, concrete proposals and actions to be implemented and collaborations to be established were thoroughly discussed all in the context of future development plan and the direction of R&D activities in Turkey.

Together with Prof. Mehmet Ozturk, iBG-izmir was represented in the fair by the team of Prof. Esra Erdal, Asst. Prof. Serif Senturk and Specialist Tulparay Isak. Throughout the fair, this team introduced the services and innovative technologies as well as the ongoing and future scientific activities of iBG-izmir, and conducted very positive and productive one-on-one partnering meetings with other participants.
